LENORE SINS | UNSCRIPTED

Privilege and Legacy

I was thinking earlier about how Lenore began for me. How something that started out of survival and necessity as a young woman turned into a business, a purpose, and something I became proud of.

At the beginning, I was curious, slightly desperate and uncertain. I knew that stepping into this world would change everything for me. My decision would close doors to what is considered “normal” employment, my name would forever be spoken in circles and tarnished with deep misunderstanding. Still, I was as fascinated, completely in awe of the women I saw at the top. The ones who seemed untouchable.

Years have since passed, years of learning, bruising, creating, and growing. I’m still not quite where I want to be personally, but I’m proud of the ripple effect and impact of my work.

I’ve brought people into this business. I’ve helped others explore sides of themselves they thought were broken or unreachable. I’ve supported women and men through transitions, marriages, and crisis moments that I wasn't even aware I was fixing. I’ve mentored other sex workers, offered advice and business guidance. Somewhere out there, there are people I’ll never meet who have been affected by something I said, did, or created.

In short, what I'm getting at is: The journey you think you’re on alone never truly belongs only to you.

Every one of us, whether you're a client or a sex worker, contributes to the collective. What we do protects, educates and inspires those who come after us. I wouldn't be who I am today without all that came before me. You serve as a guide, someone else's "awe" moment, and you quietly lead people through their own growth and becoming.

We start as students, and somewhere along the way, we become teachers.

Both privilege and legacy.
